MEMBERSHIP
NAWBO's strength comes from the diversity of its membership. We encompass all sizes of business, from those where the owner is the sole member to those with hundreds of employees. Every industry is represented, from construction to importers, retailers to service providers. Women from every ethnicity and all over the country add to the mix. Each of us appreciates the increased business opportunities, the advocacy for women businesses, visibility that comes with membership, our community of women and the supportive sharing of resources by our members.
The National Association of Women Business Owners is a real force in the political arena, lobbying policymakers to address women's concerns in the workplace.
Membership is open to all women business owners, whether sole proprietors, partners, and corporate owners with day-to-day management responsibility. Local members are automatically a member of both the national orgnaiation and our San Francico Bay Area chapter.
Membership Categories: NAWBO memberships are processed through the National organization. You can begin the process here or complete the paper application and return it at an NAWBO SFBA event
There are three categories of NAWBO membership:
Introductory Member Level: This category is designed for new members being introduced to NAWBO without regard to how long they’ve had their businesses. Prior to 2016, it was known as the Emerging Member Level. Current Emerging Members will automatically transition to an Introductory Member category when they renew. Introductory Member dues are $19.95/month.
Premier Member Level: This category allows members FULL access to NAWBO benefits. Members in this category are granted a myriad of affinity and other member benefits that are not available to Introductory members. New members may join as Premier members if they wish to access these benefits; there is no requirement to begin at the Introductory category. Current Established Members, will automatically transition to the Premier Member category. Premier Member dues are $29.95/month.
Supporting Member Level: While supporting members are not women business owners, they show their support for NAWBO by joining in this category. Examples of this would be women who have sold their business, retired, or executive men and women who want to affiliate with NAWBO. Supporting members have access to the same affinity and other member benefits as the Premier members. Supporting member dues are $39.95/month
A description of the benefits available to members in each category can be found on the national NAWBO website at www.nawbo.org/membership
